2027 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

YOU'RE INVITED TO NOMINATE

On behalf of the MOSPA board, we invite you to nominate an outstanding individual, program, or community partner who has gone above and beyond to support Special Populations (SPOP) and/or

Occupational Programs/Career Technical Education. Five award categories are available for nominations. One winner from secondary and one winner from post-secondary will be selected for each category

CATEGORIES:

  • Professional (administrator, teacher, counselor, social worker, etc. that has demonstrated exemplary instruction to SPOP)
  • Support Staff (paraprofessional or teaching assistant working directly with SPOP)
  • SPOP Student (demonstrated perseverance, personal growth, and exemplary achievement)
  • Community Partner (exemplary commitment to the success of SPOP) Program

MICHELLE GLENN AWARD

The Michelle Glenn Award provides an opportunity to honor an individual who has provided exemplary service while working in the area of Special Populations and/or Career Technical Education/Occupational Programs. The award honors Michelle Glenn, who worked for Mott College and served as MOSPA’s fiduciary for many years. With this award, MOSPA recognizes others who demonstrate dedication and commitment just as Michelle Glenn did throughout her career.

DEADLINE TO NOMINATE

Nominations submitted between now and the March 15, 2027 deadline will be reviewed by the Awards Committee to identify award winners. Nomination forms will be updated at a later date. In the meantime, you can utilize the current forms to gain an understanding of the requirements needed to nominated.

NOTIFICATION

Award winners and nominators will be notified of the committee’s selection in April 5th . The 2027 conference is currently scheduled to take place in person at Wayne County Community College, May 5-7. 

HOW CAN I BECOME INVOLVED

We are currently looking for individuals to work with the Awards Committee. If you or someone you know is interested in working with the committee or learning more, please contact the At-Large Representative, Brigitte June by email at  bjune1@wcccd.edu. Thank you for your time and consideration!
